Tyre pressure survey

According to a recent poll conducted by TyreSafe a staggering 60% of motorists were unable to check their tyre pressure due to airline equipment being out of order. This presents a concerning portrait of the sub-standard conditions of services available on the nation’s petrol forecourts.

With petrol prices increasing well beyond the £1 per litre mark, incorrect tyre pressure is costing motorists thousands of pounds every year in wasted fuel whilst also increasing the level of carbon emissions and putting many lives in danger.

This latest poll echoes results of a previous study by weekly publication Auto Express which found 40% of airlines to be faulty or inoperative with little effort being made to improve the safety of millions of drivers. Almost three quarters of all cars on country roads have under-inflated tyres. If drivers do not have access to operational equipment, there is little hope of the situation improving.
