With a brand new design, including more images and video, and offering easier access to a wealth of product and company information, the new Maxxis UK website goes live in January 2011.
The original maxxis.co.uk corporate website was launched at the end of August 2008 and following improvements in 2009 the website is being completely redeveloped. An all-new content management system and enhanced navigation system mean it will be easier for Maxxis to add new material and keep the site up to date, while also ensuring that visitors can find out what they want to know, quickly and easily.
One very important change is the way in which the site accepts information feeds. Thanks to innovative development work in this area, updates fed into the central database will instantly upload to the website as well as to other online applications that are currently in the pipeline. As a result, it will be easier for Maxxis to update information on the site, including tyre data, retailer contacts and details on teams and drivers in relation to its sponsorship activities, while visitors will be able to follow the schedule of events and keep track of where the Maxxis Babes will be heading next.
Web statistics for the original Maxxis corporate website showed that the vast majority of users wanted to research the range or look at specific products. The new site is therefore being configured to meet key information needs, enabling both dealers who are considering stocking Maxxis and consumers who want to know more about the brand to review the entire UK range.
Alongside specifications for car, winter, light truck, 4×4, trailer, turf/implement and heavy truck tyres, there is a showcase for the motorcycle range, which includes off-road motorcycle and scooter tyres plus tubes and is available through Bickers, a specialist division of Maxxis UK.
Visitors can peruse the full range or use the tyre selector to conduct a search for a specific pattern and size and they can access full details about the Maxxis Lifetime Guarantee. The facility to find a local Maxxis stockist has also been retained, both to assist consumers and support the Maxxis Centres of Excellence network.
Regular updates about Maxxis activities will appear prominently on the home page of the new site as well as in the dedicated news section, enabling visitors to see at a glance what is happening. Maxxis is also offering tyre retailers the chance to keep up to speed with the latest developments by signing up to receive the free monthly Maxxis electronic newsletter.
Free downloads and video footage added to the Maxxis website towards the latter part of 2009 proved extremely popular, so the new site will carry a host of materials that visitors can download, including sports action videos, wallpapers and literature, such as the motorcycle, off-road, scooter and ATV tyre catalogue and the Bickers motorcycle parts catalogue.
Since Maxxis has been expanding its sports sponsorship programme and developing initiatives to raise brand awareness within the performance/tuning marketplace, the new site will put the spotlight on these developments by linking to the company’s various partners, including Liverpool FC, the ACU, Max Power magazine, the Isle of Man TT Races, Future Publishing magazines and websites, premier drift team Japspeed and leading independent tyre wholesaler Grouptyre – exclusive UK distributor of the Maxxis PCR range.
The new-look www.maxxis.co.uk site will also link visitors to the Maxxis Babes website, enabling them to track the girls’ activities up and down the country via the 2011 events calendar. This will include scheduled appearances at the Maxxis British Drift Championship, British Superbike Championship and the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship, as well as the UK’s top performance/tuning/styling shows.
“Interim improvements to the corporate website, plus the response following the launch of maxxisbabes.co.uk and our new Facebook page have really underlined the extent to which both tyre retailers and consumers are using the web to research the Maxxis brand,” says Maxxis International UK’s managing director Derek McMartin.
“This is an important investment for us and we plan to develop a series of online initiatives in 2011 that will keep Maxxis top of mind with both the trade and value-conscious motorists.”
