Warwickshire young footballers have received a major boost after being signed up by Maxxis, one of the world’s top ten car tyre manufacturers, which also sponsors Premier League side Liverpool FC.
Maxxis is providing new kit for Kenilworth Wardens Football Club’s two Under-11 teams, the Juniors and the Colts. The 32 boys attend six different junior schools in Kenilworth and play their home games at Glasshouse Park.
Kenilworth Wardens Football Club is an FA Development Chartered Standard Club, with fully qualified FA coaches at every age from Level 1 to UEFA B level. There are about 350-400 boys and girls playing junior football at the club from six years to youth age groups in the Mid Warwickshire League, Coventry League and Central Warwickshire League.
Paul Calver, Junior Football Chairman and Manager of Under 11s age group, said: “Maxxis sponsorship is invaluable to a voluntary club like Kenilworth Wardens. Without the support of such generous companies, teams like this would not be able to survive or provide good quality kit for their players.
“Thirty-two boys are benefitting from this current sponsorship and now also the support of Adidas/Liverpool FC, giving many more youngsters the opportunity to continue playing football, a sport that they love. Kenilworth Wardens has enjoyed an excellent relationship with Maxxis for over seven years now and more than 100 young players have benefitted from the company’s kind financial support.”
