Maxxis International UK has taken the lead in the development of the Maxxis calendar for 2011. Following the success of the 2010 calendar, it will again be an innovative ‘2 in 1’ format, enabling recipients to choose which version to display, but this time will be distributed to Maxxis markets worldwide.
The corporate calendar will showcase Maxxis and its sports sponsorship, while the Maxxis Babes calendar adopts a burlesque theme. Each page of the Maxxis Sporting Year 2011 focuses on sporting excellence, with a montage of action shots which reinforce Maxxis International’s worldwide sports credentials and underlines how it partners with international events, teams and individuals at the very top of their sport.
Fittingly, January shows the Australian Open Tennis Championship – Maxxis is the Official Tyre of the first grand slam tennis tournament of the year – and the calendar then goes on to shine a spotlight on motocross, karting, cycling, drifting and off-road racing.
For 2011 the Maxxis Babes calendar depicts the girls in a series of burlesque pin up poses. The calendar introduces three new Babes – Jess, Kat and Kate – who will be out and about helping to promote the Maxxis brand and meeting fans at a host of sports events and shows throughout the year.
“The trade liked the novel ‘2 in 1’ format of last year’s calendar and it went down so well that we decided to evolve that winning formula for 2011,” says Maxxis International UK managing director Derek McMartin.
“The concept and design of the 2011 calendar was developed here in the UK and we are delighted that it will be made available to Maxxis group companies and distributors in Asia, Europe, Australia and North America.”
In the UK the print run will be approximately 4,500. Calendars will be distributed to the tyre trade, including the Maxxis Centres of Excellence network, by Grouptyre, the UK’s leading independent wholesaler and exclusive distributor of Maxxis PCR tyres, and Bickers, the division of Maxxis International UK that is responsible for motorcycle products.
In response to popular demand, Maxxis plans to offer a selection of pages from both the Maxxis Sporting Year 2011 and Maxxis Babes 2011 calendars as free desktop wallpaper downloads.
Fast Car calendar
In addition to the official Maxxis calendar, Maxxis International UK is using its exclusive promotional partnership with Future – the special-interest media company behind some of the UK’s most successful performance events, magazines and websites – to produce a special Maxxis calendar for the performance/tuning scene.
Featuring the Maxxis Babes, but very clearly highlighting the Maxxis brand, the calendar will be distributed with the January 2011 issue of Fast Car.
