New Maxxis 2011 event planner

Looking forward to an action-packed season of drifting, British Superbike and motocross events, while also continuing to raise its profile at the UK’s leading performance car shows, Maxxis has developed an event planner to help retailers keep track of its activities.

Available as a free download from the Maxxis website, www.maxxis.co.uk, the planner lists all the events which Maxxis will be attending this year, along with the ever-popular Maxxis Babes, who will be mingling with fans, posing for photographs and handing out giveaways.

For Maxxis the ‘events season’ commences in March, with the first two rounds of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship, and then gets into full swing in April, with further motocross action plus round one of the British Superbike Championship and the Maxxis British Drift Championship opener.

This year the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship visits eight well-known venues up and down the UK – starting at Little Silver in Exeter and travelling to Kent, Norfolk, Northampton and Wiltshire. Major crowds are expected when the series reaches Northern Ireland in June – the Desertmartin track is situated in the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains yet is just a 30-minute drive from Belfast International Airport – and for Scotland’s event at the Duns circuit in August, while all eyes will be on Shropshire’s Hawkstone Park for the 2011 season finale.

Maxxis will be at all 12 rounds of the British Superbike Championship, the UK’s premier motorcycle racing series, which gets underway in April with the first of three visits to Brands Hatch. Twenty-two teams, representing all the major manufacturers, will be contesting the spoils at packed venues around the country, as the series takes in the picturesque Oulton Park, heads to Cadwell Park over the August bank holiday weekend for the biggest BSB round and puts Snetterton 300 – the new three-mile circuit being created at the Norfolk venue – to the test.

Fans of the Maxxis British Drift Championship can look forward to ‘adrenalin-fuelled high speed twin drift battles’ when the series opens at Donington Park in mid-April. The Semi Pro and Professional class will each comprise five rounds, while a new Super Professional class comprising six events has been added for 2011 and all of these will run alongside the popular team competition. Maxxis will have a major presence at each event, including its new hospitality unit, as the high octane series moves to Norfolk, Teeside and Scotland before arriving at the Nissan factory in Sunderland for the decider.

As a Platinum Partner of special interest media company Future, Maxxis will be attending four of the UK’s top car shows, where the emphasis is on performance, styling and tuning. Following its highly successful debut at AutoSport International in Birmingham in January, Maxxis will meet up with performance fans again in May at the increasingly popular Japfest, which takes place at historic Castle Combe. Maxxis will also attend this summer’s major Ford and Vauxhall shows and will conclude its promotional activities in August at Japfest Evolution.

“We’ve got a packed events schedule ahead of us, during which we intend to build on the superb response we received at AutoSport International as we promote the Maxxis brand to key audiences at some of the country’s top motorsports championships and car shows, and trust retailers will find the planner a useful way of keeping up to date with our activities,” says Maxxis International UK’s managing director Derek McMartin.
